Hope you’ve enjoyed some days this week! Writing now with a too-quick follow up to tell you about Supercrawl this weekend, and to introduce October’s Full Noon Fest. I’m just not ready to concede to summer’s end, so let’s stay outside.

@ 2:40pm - Free!
Please join us at 2:40pm on Sunday if you’re checking out the fest, which has amazing bands playing all weekend. Thanks to all pals who wrote to tell me they were excited to see we’re playing - especially Doug, who sent this highlighted screencap.

Supercrawl is a Sonic Unyon-led juggernaut in Hamilton. I can attribute a lot to SU’s impact on a young me, starting with records I loved from Hayden and Chore and eventually through a co-op placement at their office in my last year of high-school.
Those were the Now We Are 5 anniversary days, which saw them opening a store, expanding operations drastically and throwing pop-up shows all over town. Maybe a little quaint in light of the massive ‘crawl productions, but an in-store with the Wooden Stars and a Beasley Park show from Shallow, North Dakota hit me hard back then. It got me into booking bands at Transit Union Hall next door to the store at 17 - shoutout to my dad, who would drag the PA around with me whenever I asked.
Only Dr. Disc is still active on Wilson St., but the spirit of what was happening there has been a persistent thought on my mind for decades.

These foggy memory fragments were at play when I approached the City of Hamilton earlier this Summer, in hopes of co-presenting some music with them this Fall.
Introducing Full Noon Fest…
It’s my pleasure to introduce Full Noon Fest; a lunch-hour concert series that will run on Wednesday afternoons 12pm - 2pm throughout October. We’ll be taking over Ferguson Station in downtown Hamilton on October 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd to present some great music from the GTHA.
Check out our stellar line-up and come spend your lunch-hours with us!
I’ll send another message later this month to introduce the line-up in a deeper way, but in the meantime please check out Long Gone Songs (I just needed another project I guess?) at longgonesongs.com or @longgonesongs on IG.
Hope to see you out on Sunday, throughout Supercrawl, or at any of these Full Noon Fest shows in October. Let’s hang out outside before ❄️ old man winter comes to push us back to the glow of our 📺 TVs.
